Studio Gerritsen/Bart is a multidisciplinary creative studio founded in 2023 by art director Ella Gerritsen and spatial designer Florian Bart. Studio G/B strives to create imaginative yet tangible objects, spaces and experiences.
Our work varies in scale, from object design to interior design to event design, breaking down the conventional barriers between different design disciplines. We believe unexpected and creative solutions stem from the fruitful combination of different viewpoints, crafts and skills which lay at the foundation of our studio.
Through exploration, research and a collaborative approach, we create objects and spatial concepts with a purpose that blend our creative vision with the client’s identity. Our work is characterised by a playful attention to detail, combining materials and shapes ensuring it is always both functional and visual.

our team
Ella Gerritsen
Art director and visual researcher
Immediately after graduating, Ella started working in the film industry. She worked for production designer Ben Zuidwijk for several years and also did the art direction and set design for several music videos. Between 2021 and 2022 Ella was the creative producer at the Young Agency, a creative brand development studio.
In projects, Ella focuses on qualities and stories of people and the placement of objects in space. How do these objects relate to us on a visual and emotional level? Conversations and interviews are often the starting point of a project, from which she distils emotions, behaviour and subjects. The social value that remains after a project is therefore of great importance to Ella.

Florian Bart
Spatial designer, art director and design researcher
From 2018 to 2022, Florian was a designer and producer at Powerboat, a creative studio that applies theatre and design techniques in social neighbourhood projects. During his master, Florian set up his own spatial design studio; Studio Florian Bart. Over the years, he gained experience in various fields such as interior design, object design, furniture design, set design and production design.
In projects, Florian focuses on the relationship and interactions between the body, objects and space. He researches the boundaries of these interactions by playing with the intricate balance between definition and ambiguousness, the use of color and material and the natural movement in a space.
