For the AIxDesign Festival, we developed a spatial design that framed the exhibition, talks, and workshops, all centered around offering alternative perspectives on the dominant narratives surrounding artificial intelligence.
Our approach challenged the typical aesthetics often associated with AI. Instead of sleek, high-tech materials and rigid forms, we introduced soft, rounded, and tactile elements. These “anti-tech” materials created a more human and approachable environment, emphasizing that there are different, more nuanced ways to think about AI — ones rooted in emotion, ambiguity, and materiality.
By shaping the physical space in this way, we supported the festival’s broader goal: to open up dialogue around AI and invite visitors to question the assumptions that often go unquestioned.
